Razvan Stoica:
“Discerning charm and ravishing timbre, breathtaking technical bravura, sparkling intonation… he will become one of the greatest violinists of his generation.” (Meunsteriche Zeitung). He is world-wide known as a violinist and artist of an amazing technique, for his virtuosity, passion, integrity and lucidity of his playing.
Winning the Strad Prize (Austria) gave him the honor of playing on a Stradivarius violin. „The Queen” was crafted in 1729 and played by Paganini himself.
In 2013 Razvan Stoica has been awarded the GRAND PRIZE in EuroBroadcast music competition „New Best Talent”, becoming the first Romanian musician in history that won this prestigious competition. Razvan has performed, both as a guest soloist and also in recitals as part of DUO Stoica in Amsterdam – „Royal Concertgebouw”, Paris – “Theatre des Champs Elysees”, San Barnaba – Brescia Teatro, Genova – Teatro Carlo Felice, Santander – Palacio de Festivales.
Chamber Music is an integral part of Razvan’s life!In 1996 he joined his sister, the pianist Andreea Stoica, forming the successful DUO Stoica.
In 2012 Razvan signed with the Dutch based record label Aliud records. The first release under this contract, „Capriccioso”, has been a succesful release in September 2012, being sold worldwide. Following the impressive success of that album, DUO Stoica released many albums afterwards.
As a recording artist, Razvan, is continuing to build a distinguished catalog of recordings including his critically acclaimed recording of the 24 Caprices by Niccolo Paganini and the Edouard Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole for violin and orchestra with the Beethoven Academy Orchestra – Krakow.
„The intensity, instrumental sophistication and musical freedom that Stoica’s Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Saint-Saens, the Tzigane by Ravel and the Symphonie espagnole by Lalo plays, places him in the line of great violinists as Ivry Gitlis, Vadim Repin, Jozsef Lendvay, Leonidos Kavakos and, shimmering in the distance, even legendary violinists like Yehudi Menuhin and Jascha Heifetz.” Wanneke Savenije
