ANA BOLDEA was born on November 08, 1993 in Constanta. Since 2010 she is a student of the Dinu Lipatti Music High School in Bucharest, in the piano class of Prof. Dr. Ligia Pop.
From the first grade to the 9th grade she studied piano at the „Queen Maria” National Art College in Constanta as a main instrument and, in parallel, participated in the piano master classes organized by Munchener Musikseminar, under the guidance of Master Walter Krafft in Munich and Csiky Boldizsar University Professor at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj. She participated in the recitals organized at the end of each mastery course organized by Munchener Musikseminar in various cities such as Iasi, Sibiu, Craiova and Targu Mures. She has presented numerous works in the Sergiu Celibidache Hall of the National Art College Regina Maria in Constanta, on the occasion of the celebration of this institution’s day. In 2008 and 2009 she participated in Germany, in Munich, at the end of the school year of the students at the piano class of Master Walter Krafft. In 2010 she participates in a concert for the memory of the Polish victims of the Smolensk airplane crash at the „George Enescu” Museum in Bucharest.
In 2001, she received a third prize at her first performance contest. In 2002 she received the third prize at the contest organized by the piano chair of the Art High School in Constanta. In 2003, the first prize in the same competition, in 2005 the third prize at the National Instrumental Interpretation Competition in Tulcea and the 2nd prize at the contest organized at the Art High School in Constanta. In 2006, she won the 1st prize at the Music and Choreography Olympiad – the local phase and participated in the National Instrumental Interpretation of Schools and High Schools in Slobozia. In 2007 she won the 2nd Prize of the Little Interpreter Competition and participates in the Carl Filtch International Competition in Sibiu. In 2008 she was awarded the First Prize at the Zonal Phase of the National Instrumental Olimpia, the first prize at the National Phase of the National Olympiad of Instrumental Interpretation and participates at the National Olympiad in Cluj. In 2009 she is awarded the Third Prize at the Little Artist contest and holds the high school entrance exam where she gets the maximum mark at all the specialty samples. In 2010 she participates in the Interpretation Competition George Georgescu from Tulcea.
In 2011 she gets a mention at the Craiova International Piano Competition and the Third Prize at the International Piano Competition. In 2012 she gets 1st place at the Music Olympics, high school stage. From the fall of 2010 to the present she participated in concerts organized by Remember Enescu Foundation in Bucharest and other cities in the country. Since 2013 she is a student at the National Music University – Bucharest, in the class of lect. univ. Dr. Toma Popovici, also working on the accompanying disciplines and chamber music with distinguished masters, namely: prof. univ. PhD Viorica Radoi, PhD. dr. Serban Dimitrie Soreanu and conf. Dr. Manuela Giosa. She participated in numerous recitals organized in the „George Enescu” Hall of the University, at concerts organized by various Embassies in Romania, as well as at recitals held in the Central University Library Hall. Since 2014, she forms a duo with pianist Marius Boldea, a student in the class of master Viniciu Moroianu, with whom she has concerts in numerous occasions at the Friedrich Schiller House of Culture in Bucharest. In 2016 she participates in the „Suzana Szorenyi” International Duo Contest, as part of the duo with the pianist Marius Boldea, and receives the first prize at the International Piano Competition „Pro Piano” – the piano section 4 hands. In the same year she has concerts in the „Tomisul Etern” Art Festival, held in Constanta, and supports a charity recital for the National Art College „Regina Maria” – Constanta.
In 2016 she graduated from the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work, while studying at the same time as the National Music University of Bucharest. In 2017 she is supporting a chamber recital in Timisoara performing Sonata in Re major for two pianos by Mozart. Also in 2017 she participates in master course with pianist Josu De Solaun and holds a bachelor’s examination at the National Music University of Bucharest. Since the fall of 2017, she is a master degree student of the National Music University of Bucharest and monthly performances in Bucharest, as well as in other cities in the country. She debuted at the Romanian Athenaeum in November 2017, performing alongside Marius Boldea the Hungarian dance ensemble of J.Brahms for 4 hands. In 2018 she is supporting two chamber recitals in the UNMB, a series of Romances by S. Rachmaninoff (op.38), difficult and rarely addressed work.
In April 2018 she supports Brasov a piano duo recital at the Brassovia chamber music festival. In May and June 2018 she received two awards in the 4 hands piano category, along with the pianist Marius Boldea at the International Contests Sabin Pautza – Resita and Pro Piano – Bucharest. In August, the duo is part of the Connect Arts project and makes a recording with Radio Romania. In November, the duo won the 1st prize at the Eduard Caudella National Competition – the Chamber Music section – held in Iasi. In March 2019, the duo won the 2nd prize at the Mihail Jora National Contest, held in Bucharest.
MARIUS BOLDEA was born in 1994 in Targu Mures. He graduated in 2013 from the Art High School in the hometown of Prof. Codruţa Condruţ. From the same year he is a student at the National Music University of Bucharest (admitted first), piano class prof. Univ. Dr. Viniciu Moroianu. In chamber music and accompanying disciplines he also works with distinguished masters such as Univ. Dr. Manuela Giosa (chamber music) and prof. Dr. Viorica Radoi (accompaniment). Early on, he took part in the eighth edition of the Johann Sebastian Bach Festival in Cluj-Napoca between 2002 and 2011, where he obtained a distinction each time, including the Merit Diploma, as well as three times, Diploma of Excellence and First Prize. He also won distinctions in the national competitions in Târgovişte (2005, 2009) and Suceava („The Golden Lira”, 2011 and 2012).
He participated in the international festivals „Pro Piano” and „Remember Enescu” in Cluj-Napoca (2012), Baja-Hungary („Franz Liszt”, 2011) and the „Sighişoara Turntable of the Writers”. He has performed recitals in Baja-Hungary (2010), UNMB and Sighişoara Mayoralty (2011, 2012), Târgu Mureş Philharmonic (2013), Romanian Literature Museum (2013) and University Central Library (2014). He is a permanent collaborator of the Friedrich Schiller Cultural House in Bucharest (2015). He participated in master classes supported by Horia Mihail (Târgu Mureş, 2007), Imre Rohman and Viniciu Moroianu („Sighişoara Academy”, 2012, 2013), as well as in Tel-Aviv, 2013, Budapest (Gergely Boganyi and Gyula Kiss, 2010). He concerted with the violinist Alexandru Tomescu on the stage of the Palace of Culture in Târgu Mureş (2011). Concert in 2015 with his teacher, pianist Viniciu Moroianu, playing the op 10 suite by George Enescu in the events of Lipatti Evenings, in the manor at Fundateanca. He is a finalist of the international duo competition Suzana Szörenyi, with his wife, pianist Ana Boldea, with whom he forms a piano duo and obtains I prize at the International Piano Pro Piano Contest – piano 4 hands section.
He is a finalist of the national competition Mihail Jora. He also participates in the Jeunesses, Europa fest, where 61 participants from 35 countries took part in the fourth place as a semi-finalist. In 2017, he has his debut at the Romanian Athenaeum, where he has an extensive recital with the works of composers Mozart, Brahms, Debussy and Enescu. Also in 2017 he participates in master course with pianist Josu De Solaun and in February he has a solo and chamber music recital at the University of Timisoara, performing with his wife pianist Ana Boldea Sonata for two pianos in Re de WA Mozart. He performed as soloist Concerto no. 3 by Beethoven (State Philharmonic, Târgu Mureş, 2013), Concerto no. 14 by Mozart (Târgu Jiu, 2014) and the Grieg in a Minor Concerto (Craiova Philharmonic, 2017). He is currently a master student at the National Music University of Bucharest, with concerts and national and international recitals. Most recently, in November 2017, he performed a piano duo recital at the Romanian Athenaeum, interpreting the integral of the Hungarian Dances by J. Brahms for 4 hands, a rarely cyclical work, which he also presents at the Sutu Palace, the UNMB and the House of Culture – Logs.
In March 2018, he performs in the G. Enescu Hall of the UNMB, the first Book of Preludes by C. Debussy, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death, as well as the cycle of 7 songs by Clement Marot by G. Enescu . In April 2018 he supports at Brasov a piano duo recital at the Brassovia Festival. In May and June 2018, the duo will receive two awards (first prize) in the 4th piano category at the International Sabin Pautza – Resita and Pro Piano – Bucharest Contests. In August, the duo is part of the Connect Arts project and makes a recording with Radio Romania.
