\"Asociatia<\/a><\/p>\n

Asocia\u021bia Proiectul Cantemir (Cantemir Project Association) aims to assist, continue, and develos the activities of the Asocia\u021bia Orbis Tertius \/ A Treia Lume ((2007-), as well as other initiatives, usually with national and international partners. Due to the pandemic, its actual projects have been postponed or cancelled. <\/em><\/p>\n

The Cantemir Project Association aims to reflect critically on and work in the spirit of intercultural humanism. Our symbolic predecessors are two humanist princes: Demetrius Cantemir (1673-1723) and his son Antiochus (1709-1744).\u00a0\u00a0These distinguished polymaths were steeped in the cultures, societies, and politics of both Europe and the Levant, from Persia to Western Europe, via the Ottoman and the Russian empires.\u00a0 Their lives, work, ideas, and visions encompass vast spaces, different periods and various cultures: Demetrius was a ruling prince of Moldavia, a member of the Berlin Academy, a prince of the Russian Empire and an adviser to Peter the Great, while Antiochus was a translator as well as Russia\u2019s first modern poet and first ambassador to England and France. They were cosmopolitan and enlightened personalities who, while rooted in particular societies and worldviews, transcended borders of many sorts and <\/em>aspired to intercultural knowledge and universality<\/em>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Asocia\u021bia Proiectul Cantemir (\u00een continuare, APC), a fost ini\u021biat\u0103 \u00een 2019 \u0219i \u00eenfiin\u021bat\u0103 \u00een 2020. Membri fondatori: Sorin Antohi (Pre\u0219edinte), Mircea Dumitru, Andrei Drago\u0219 (Vicepre\u0219edin\u021bi), \u00a0Florentin \u021auca.<\/p>\n

Date legale: APC este \u00eenscris\u0103 \u00een Registrul Na\u021bional ONG \u2013 Ministerul Justi\u021biei,\u00a0 nr. crt. 34891, nr. de \u00eenregistr. 152\/A\/2020. CIF 4231073.<\/p>\n

\u201cCantemir\u201d este desigur o referin\u021b\u0103 simbolic\u0103 la cei doi principi lumina\u021bi, Dimitrie Cantemir \u0219i fiul s\u0103u Antioh. Umanismul lor intercultural \u0219i capacitatea lor de a cunoa\u0219te \u0219i integra lumi diverse, din Europa \u0219i din Levant, din Persia \u00een Occident, trec\u00eend prin imperiile otoman, respectiv rus, reprezint\u0103 pentru noi to\u021bi un legat \u0219i o inspira\u021bie.<\/p>\n

APC urmeaz\u0103 s\u0103 sprijine, preia, integreze, completeze \u0219i dezvolte obiectivele Asocia\u021biei Orbis Tertius \/ A Treia Lume, precum \u0219i alte obiective, ini\u021biative \u0219i proiecte asociate, desf\u0103\u0219urate \u00een timp din ini\u021biativa lui Sorin Antohi \u00een \u021bar\u0103 \u0219i \u00een str\u0103in\u0103tate. Documentele constitutive ale APC \u00eei stabilesc \u00een detaliu cadrul legal, viziunea, misiunea, agenda \u0219i modalit\u0103\u021bile de a le \u00eendeplini. Pandemia a am\u00eenat sau anulat primele proiecte ale APC.<\/p>\n

Asocia\u021bia Orbis Tertius \/ A Treia Lume, ini\u021biat\u0103 \u0219i prezidat\u0103 de Sorin Antohi, a fost \u00eenfiin\u021bat\u0103 \u00een 2007, ceilal\u021bi doi membri fondatori fiind Mona Antohi \u0219i R\u0103zvan P\u00e2r\u00e2ianu. Principalele activit\u0103\u021bi ale Asocia\u021biei Orbis Tertius \/ A Treia Lume au fost: conferin\u021be, colocvii, dezbateri, cercetare, consultan\u021b\u0103,\u00a0 publica\u021bii. Finan\u021barea a fost asigurat\u0103 prin sponsoriz\u0103ri, dona\u021bii, parteneriate, colabor\u0103ri \u0219i contracte de asociere convenite cu persoane fizice \u0219i juridice, rom\u00e2ne \u0219i str\u0103ine. Membrii fondatori \u0219i numero\u0219i colaboratori \u2013 \u00eencep\u00eend cu participan\u021bii la conferin\u021be, colocvii, dezbateri — au lucrat pro bono.
